Profile

My name is Stefania Knittel, I was born in Switzerland and I have been living in Greece for the past 23 years.
The fact that my mother is Greek, my father Swiss and my stepfather English was very helpful, as I grew up listening to and speaking three different languages, making it much easier for me when I decided to teach Greek to foreigners.
As I have worked in the travel industry and in several international real estate agencies, I gathered a lot of experience in communicating with people from all over the world.
I have been teaching Greek for the past few years, and I really enjoy doing so. I love languages, and especially the Greek, as it is one of the richest in the world and it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language spanning 34 centuries of written records.
Apart from that, it is very interesting and nice to meet new people with different cultures, who are inspired and willing to learn this beautiful language and get a little bit closer to the Greek mentality.
I came up with the idea to teach Greek online, when I started having Spanish lessons my self.
I went to Buenos Aires for three months and wanted to learn the language, but didn’t manage to do so. When I returned to Greece I decided to go ahead, but it was impossible for me to find a teacher, who would teach me Spanish as it is spoken in Argentina. I had visited several schools when I was in Buenos Aires, and one of them sent me an e-mail one day saying that they where going to start lessons online too. I thought “This is a great idea! I could learn Spanish with a native speaking teacher, and exactly the way I wanted. Without having to get ready, leave my house, drive and go to a school, just staying home and having a private lesson, and without needing to prepare my whole house for my teacher’s arrival. Without any fuss! Besides that I will be able to do my lesson no matter in which part of the world I am.”.
So, I did. And the result was excellent for both, my Spanish lessons and offering Greek lessons.
